What better way to make new friends
I wonder how many HPS members while visiting other parts of the country bother to contact members in that area to see if they could visit their gardens.
Try it! You meet wonderful people, see lovely gardens, gain new ideas and often come home with a new plant or two.
Having a family holiday in the Leicestershire and Rutland area for the past few years has allowed me and my 13 year old grandson to do just that! Contact fellow gardeners and when possible visit their gardens. You just don’t know who you will meet.
What you do know, in advance, is that HPS people are a friendly lot, knowledgeable, interesting and usually entertaining.
We consider ourselves lucky to have met and shared time with such lovely people, been invited to lunch by perfect strangers, offered and enjoyed tea/coffee and biscuits and shared knowledge with like-minded people -just a wonderful experience, which will be continued -if only more members would be brave enough to try it!
