Conservation Scheme information for Hemerocallis ‘Apple Court Damson’



  • ID: P190
  • Introduced: 2013
  • By: Isle of Wight Group
  • Reason: Historical interest. Introduced as a seedling from H. ‘Joan Senior’ as one parent, but never registered.
  • Verified by: Obtained from Diana Grenfell, ex Apple Court Nursery, Hampshire.
  • Description: Herbaceous clump-forming perennial.
  • Dimensions: 45cm x 45cm
  • Flowers: Stunning (10cm), deep damson coloured flowers with a lime throat.
  • Foliage: Mid-green strap-like leaves.
  • Soil: Any soil.
  • Aspect: Full sun
  • Pests: Slugs and snails. Hemerocallis Gall Midge - infected buds should be removed and burnt.
  • Cultivation: Tolerant of a wide range of conditions, but may need watering in a dry spring to ensure good flowering.
  • Propagation: Division of established clumps in spring.
