Conservation Scheme information for Chrysanthemum ‘Dulwich Pink’

  • Reason: Historical interest. Found in Dulwich Park, London. Awarded RHS AGM in 2012.
  • Verified by: Judy Barker, National Collection Holder (Korean, Rubellum and hardy spray chrysanthemums)
  • Description: Hardy, herbaceous perennial. Spray chrysanthemum.
  • Dimensions: 70cm x 60cm
  • Flowers: Deep pink buds open to bright mid-pink flowers with lime/yellow central disc. Flowers pale as they age.
  • Foliage: Typical mid-green.
  • Soil: Any soil.
  • Aspect: Full sun
  • Pests: Aphids and leaf miners. Earwigs sometimes damage blooms. Plants may suffer from powdery mildew in dry weather.
  • Cultivation: Chrysanthemums are later than some other perennials to emerge in spring so make sure they have room and do not get crowded out.
  • Propagation: Established clumps can be divided or take basal or soft cuttings which will root without heat.
