Woodland Camellia

I wanted to share the sight of this beautiful woodland Camellia with all of those at the HPS that read the website, it's a real stunner, much admired by members of the staff at the Lakeside, and the many visitors, the cameras are constantly clicking. Hopefully this 5-metre beauty will be of interest to the Shade and Woodland Plants Group.

Gardening is after all about the joy of sharing these lovely experiences, aside from learning from each other of all ages, Horticultural hands-on techniques, experiences and plant names, cultivation requirements etc. It really is simply about sharing these wonderful sights and joys which make gardening such a wonderful hobby and occupation to work in.

Gardening is an Art Form, with a blend of science, and it's important to link that within the environment and nature in gardening for wildlife, that's my philosophy.

On the research front, I'm currently looking into my archive of the RHS Plantsman Journals, now RHS Plant Review on - Replacing peat in ericaceous growing media, and peat free growing media for Camellia production. Some members may have access to that, but I'll touch on that subject in due course as reference to the non-use of peat-based compost.
