With reference to one of my earlier blogs this year, the Skimmia berries of which I collected and extracted/ sowed the seed on February 1st are germinating !
I never fail to feel excited with anticipation from more challenging seed trials, let alone the simpler plant challenges.
I plan to prick these seedlings out after some progression into 7cm pots by the end of June, and grow on in the glasshouse. The next stage this year will be to progress into 1 litre pots, overwinter in the cool glasshouse, to progress to next seasons stage of continued potting prior to establishing a sizeable shrub.
