  • Reason: Unusual variegated form of a popular plant.
  • Verified by: Plant grown by HPS member for a long time corresponds with description and image on internet from Millrace Nursery, Garforth, Leeds and Master-Standen Nursery in Germany.
  • Description: Compact clump-forming evergreen perennial.
  • Dimensions: 30cm x 40cm
  • Flowers: White, cruciform flowers borne in clusters.
  • Foliage: Evergreen. Lanceolate, grey-green leaves with cream edge.
  • Soil: Neutral to alkaline soil. Free-draining.
  • Aspect: Full sun or part-shade. Suitable for border edge, rock garden or trough.
  • Pests: Like all brassicas they can be susceptible to flea beetle damage which appears as small holes in the leaves. Club root can be a problem if the soil is too acid.
  • Cultivation: Remove any shoots that have reverted to plain green.
  • Propagation: Semi-ripe cuttings root easily without heat. Pieces of rooted stem can be detached and grown on.
