Reason: Bred by Cecil H. Pugsley (b. 1900). AGM awarded 2009.

Description: Evergreen rhizomatous perennial.
Dimensions: 45cm x 45cm
Flowers: Clusters of deep pink flowers.
Foliage: Evergreen. Large rounded, fleshy mid-green leaves, colouring red in winter.
Soil: Any soil.
Aspect: Full sun or part-shade
Pests: Leaves may be damaged by slugs and snails or adult vine weevils, whilst weevil grubs may eat away the rhizome.
Cultivation: Remove dead foliage and cut back elongated stems to keep plant tidy.
Propagation: Propagate by rooting pieces of stem/rhizome detached from the main plant.
