- Reason: Historical interest. Grown by Blackthorn Nursery from seed collected by Roy Lancaster (HPS President) and introduced in 2008.
- Verified by: Hampshire Group member, Sue Ward.
- Description: Clump-forming semi-evergreen perennial with many, relatively small flowers held above attractive foliage.
- Dimensions: 30cm x 30cm
- Flowers: Multiple stems carry sprays of pristine white flowers with long spurs and yellow stamens.
- Foliage: New spring foliage is attractively speckled with deep purple markings. At maturity, the small semi-evergreen leaflets display an attractive silver overlay to main veins.
- Soil: Any soil, but needs soil that doesn’t dry out in summer and has good winter drainage.
- Aspect: Part shade
- Pests: Vine weevil may be a problem.
- Cultivation: Grow in a sheltered position in humus-rich soil.
- Propagation: Divide in autumn.
