Reason: Historical interest. Found at Tapeley Park, Instow, North Devon in the 1980’s.
Verified by: National Collection holder (Heather Booker)
Description: Herbaceous,clump-forming (rather than running) form of Rodgersia podophylla.
Dimensions: 70cm x 50cm
Flowers: Panicles of white flowers to 180cm
Foliage: Jaggedly lobed, palmate leaves in rich red-bronze.
Soil: Any moisture-retentive soil.
Aspect: Part shade
Pests: Slugs may damage young leaves in spring.
Cultivation: Protect from drying winds. Cut back after flowering.
Propagation: Divide established clumps.
